Ways to Cwtch in Autumn

The days are shorter so we need to make the most of them. Making the most of the day is different for each of us. Sometimes it may be a day outside, and then there can be whole weekends where we’ll want to spend them at home.

Ways to Cwtch is about enjoying the little things, making the most of everyday and making our homes cosy. This Autumn we plan to do this by;

1. Getting outside and enjoying the colours of Autumn.

2. Using our Little Free Library to find new books and taking home to enjoy with a nice cuppa.

3. Swap over our wardrobes to dig out jeans, boots and cosy jumpers. (Waterproofs and wellies for those outdoor walks!)

4. Spend afternoons indoors, reading books cwtched in with a blanket and watching movies. Family friendly Halloween films and chick flicks are top of the list, however it’s never too early to start on the Christmas movies.

5. Batch cooking with our slow cooker. It’s the perfect time to pop something in the cooker before work and it’s ready for finish. Walking in to the smell of a casserole/cawl cooking and knowing dinner is ready is perfect on a cold evening.

6. Plan a few celebrations for Halloween and Bonfire night. Pumpkins, bonfires and sparklers are a favourite sign of the season.

7. Fill our home with scents of Autumn. We love a candle or wax melt, and add extra for light, warmth and the beautiful scents, they seem much better suited to this season than any other.

8. Self care is a focus. Hot baths, face masks, pyjamas and early nights. We don’t need an excuse to stay at home.

9. Trying out a new recipe. We get a shed load of apples from a relative and are always looking for new ways to eat (and drink!) them. Spend a weekend baking and then enjoying what we’ve made.

10. Spending time planning. Planning ahead for Christmas by shopping early (and local) and planning adventures for next year.
